ImageBELFAST to DROGHEDA: I flew with Easyjet to Belfast BFS, saw some sights including Shankill Road, the Peace Wall and Falls Road, and then caught the Enterprise train to Drogheda in the Republic of Ireland. I had been to Drogeda on a very rainy Saturday afternoon back in 1986, so I was excited to retrace my steps.

ImageDROGHEDA to DUBLIN: I reminisce about a visit to Drogheda in 1986 to see a football match between Drogheda United and Sligo Rovers. The skies opened and I never got a chance to see the town, so I made sure I was able to do so this time. I was particularily impressed with the Boyne Viaduct which dated fro 1855. I then catch a local train to Dublin.

ImageDUBLIN AT NIGHT: After checking in at Jurys Inn Parnell Street, I explore Dublin at night and enjoyed a superb Chinese buffet meal and a beer. Eventually I ended up in the Temple Bar area (as most people do), and entered a few bars to listen to the live music.

ImageDUBLIN and HOWTH: I didn't actually know about Howth until I saw it on a map, noticed a train service went there, and realised it was a delightful place to visit. I caught some of the sights of Dublin, visit Connolly Station and then caught the DART suburban train to the harbour town of Howth. I walk the coastal trail and return to Dublin Airport to catch Ryanair home.
