ImageLEEDS UNITED: When I was 2 years old, my father moved the family from Glasgow to Leeds. We lived at Morley and he worked at the Hunslet factory. Every fortnight he would visit Elland Road to see Leeds United and Billy Bremner. Until the day he died, my father was a Leeds fan, so decided to pay homage and visit a home game in Leeds. One slight problem - no ticket.

ImageLEEDS - The River Aire in flood and a change of plan with the train to Preston. So many great plans, and because of overnight rain, and the River Aire through Leeds in flood, there was a change of plan. I travel from Leeds to Preston via Bradford and Halifax, and was surprised at how pretty the region was.

ImageTHE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE: What's quicker - train or plane? The distance from Glasgow to London is 345 miles/555km, and this ultimate challenge will see me race myself from George Square, Glasgow, to Trafalgar Square, London. Team Red will use Virgin West Coast and Team Blue will use British Airways. This video proves what I had assumed for some time.

ImageLONDON TO SCOTLAND by LNER FIRST CLASS: This was to be my first Ride on the new LNER Azuma train, from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley, Scotland. I managed to get a 50% discount on a 1st class ticket, and explain how split ticketing works. The journey was magnificent, although there was carnage in the 2nd class carriages. Something had gone terribly wrong.
