ImageBUDAPEST: My first impressions of Budapest. Thius was my first time in Hungary, and I knew it was well overdue. Transport, food, people and general appearance were all very positive. I'm on a mission to buy a gift for a friend and pick up pre-paid rail tickets. What could possibly go wrong?

ImageBUDAPEST: a full day of exploring: Castle Hill, cog railway, food, Obud & Margaret Islanda, My full day in Budapest sees me exploring Castle Hill and the changing of the guards, the cog / rack and pinion railway, Margaret Island, historic Obuda and more Hungarian food!

ImageBUDAPEST: I leave the best until last. The more unusual things to do - with no crowds! My last day in Budapest, and I leave the best until last. I see the sights by tram, metro and ferry, ride the funicular, and walk through a road tunnel which I have since discovered was not recommended. I ride the second oldest metro in the work and explore the beautiful Varos Liget park.

ImageBUDAPEST to WARSAW: I love long rail journeys, and especially international journeys. Even better is an overnight sleeper. This hard-to-book overnight sleeper train from Budapest to Warsaw was great fun, despite the lack of restaurant car.
